Don’t Look Down!
Have you ever experienced the nostalgia of being on the rooftop of a skyscraper like the Empire State Building, or on the absolute peak of a Roller Coaster just before it scales down? It is the absolute scariest, yet accomplished feeling that one could experience. It almost feels like you have the sinking feeling in your stomach that is almost always accompanied by anxiety of the unknown. It is at that moment, that I almost always tell myself, “Don’t Look Down!”.
When you focus on the thing that motivates your fear as opposed to the accomplishment that solidifies your faith and security, you almost always seem to sink or decline. Ask the Apostle Peter, how that went for him. He was at the pinnacle of his experience with Jesus. Jesus called out the faith in him and responded correctly by believing and stepping out on the water. The amazing thing was he actually walked on the water. He was the only disciple that ever got to experience what Jesus did when He walked on the water and did all the miracles. However, Peter decided to digress, like so many of us do, and he took his eyes off of Jesus, looked down, and immediately started to sink. Peter was sinking in the environment he was overcoming, because he allowed doubt and unbelief to overwhelm his faith.
What are you allowing to overcome your faith in God? What are you sinking in that you were created to walk on? What you focus on will only grow. So focus on Jesus! Focus on your desired purpose! Focus on your audience! Focus on your growth. Allow faith to rise above every fear. The future will only be an upward trajectory if you refuse to entertain fear and mediocrity. You are well able to possess the land! So, POSSESS THE LAND! DON’T LOOK DOWN!!!!
